June 23-25: Bay Rodders WinterBlast – Tauranga

Bay Rodders’ annual WinterBlast is offering an early registration and meet and greet on the Friday night at their Cherokee place clubrooms from 5pm-8pm. Saturday starts with a clubroom breakfast from 8am-9.30am, a 9am-3pm mystery run followed by dinner, band and spot prizes from 6.30pm.

The big public event is the Swap Meet and Car Display on Sunday from 9am-2pm at Durham St carpark building. This features hotrods, new vehicles, muscle cars, street machines, vintage cars, and motorcycles and race cars galore. Entry is adults $12, under 12s free and a family pass is $12.

July 9: Central North Island Swap Meet & Car Show - Rotorua

Hosted by the Rotorua Vintage Car Club at Rotorua Stockcar Track, Paradise Valley Rd, this is the 36th Annual Central North Island Swap Meet and Car Show.

July 22-23: CRC Speedshow - Auckland

You may want to consider heading north for the CRC Speedshow at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds. The annual event is billed as New Zealand’s ultimate automotive playground, showcasing the finest, fastest and coolest new cars, race cars, race bikes, classics, motor sport celebrities, wild hotrods, muscle cars and custom creations from around NZ and the world. The show is open Saturday, July 22, 9am-6pm and Sunday, July 23, 9am-5pm. Tickets are available from www.speedshow.co.nz

July 23: Playday on Track - Taupo

Take an opportunity to drive around a real race track at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park in Taupo for Playday on Track on Sunday, July 23. It doesn’t matter if you drive a $500 Holden, a family car or a $1.2 million Pagani Zonda as long as it’s roadworthy. Helmet, overalls, goggles and a sense of humour required. Gates open at 8am followed by a drivers’ briefing at 9.40am, familiarisation laps at 9.55am and the first cars out on the track at 10.10am until 4.30pm. Cars are out for 12-15 minute sessions in different speed groups before heading to the pits. Three speed groups available. For more information and to buy tickets visit www.playdayontrack.co.nz

September 10: Henry Ford Memorial Day - Hamilton

The 23rd annual Henry Ford Memorial Day display and swap meet will be held at Claudelands Event Centre in Hamilton on Sunday, September 10. The event is hosted by the Waikato Mustang Owners Club and gates open at 8am. Entry is $5 per Ford vehicle/person, $10 for two or more, $5 per adult, family $10 and kids under 12 free. Swappers $15. Trade $25.
