October 21: Wheels on Mainstreet – Mount Maunganui

Wheels On Mainstreet features classic cars, custom cars, hot rods, trucks and bikes of all shapes and sizes on show for the whole family. Entry fee for vehicles is $5. Gates open for show vehicles at 8am. Vehicle entry fee includes one entry for a chance to win a $600 travel voucher. Spectator entry fee is $5 per person and children under 12 attend free. The show runs from 10am-2.30pm on Saturday, October 21 at Coronation Park, Mount Maunganui.

October 21: Baypark Speedway – Mount Maunganui

Opening night of the 2017/2018 season gets underway at Baypark Speedway at 6.30pm on Saturday, October 21. Gates open at 5pm with a chance to walk through the pits, meet the drivers and see the race cars. Race classes include sprint cars, super saloons, stock cars, six shooters and mini stocks. Adults $20, seniors and children aged 5-15 years $10, family pass (2 adults plus 3 children) $50 and under 5s attend free. For more information and tickets visit www.bayparkspeedway.co.nz

October 21: Whangamata Car, Bike & Tractor Show, Whangamata Club carpark

Bring along your vintage or classic car, bike or tractor to the Whangamata Club carpark on Saturday, October 21 from 9am for the annual Car, Bike & Tractor Show to raise funds for the Whangamata Community Trust. Entry fee $5. Public entry is by gold coin donation. Great food, great atmosphere and the club will be open for lunch from $10.

October 28-29: Hampton Downs 500, Hampton Downs Motor Sport Park – Te Kauwhata

The Hampton Downs 500 takes place over October 28-29 at the Hampton Downs Motor Sport Park in Te Kauwhata. The 101-lap race has changed to a 500km which will see the Australian GT teams having to pit three times and manage fuel differently. The Highlands 101 will also change to the Highlands 501, which will be raced over 501km to create the New Zealand 1001. Support categories will take to the track between the AGT sessions and there will be a mega family zone and exhibits. Weekend and single day passes available. November 11: Motul 6 Hour, Hampton Downs Motor Sport Park, Te Kauwhata

The Motul 6 Hour race is back. The practice day is open to medium, medium-fast and fast riders – no novice class. MotoTT motorcycle track days are designed for qualified riders. All bikes and racing gear must be safety-checked prior to going on track. Tickets available from www.eventfinda.co.nz
