Motorists travelling on Desert Road State Highway 1 are being warned to drive cautiously with snow showers expected tonight says the New Zealand Transport Agency.
The media release says between 10cm and 15cm of snow may accumulate about the summit from tonight and Sunday afternoon.
Motorists are being asked to slow down and drive to the conditions.
